MACS Macaroni and Cheese Shop

Macaroni and Cheese is the ultimate comfort food that has origins from southern Italy.  The boxed Kraft Macaroni and Cheese that Americans are used to debuted around the 1930’s evolving from macaroni pudding.  Macaroni is typically dried narrow tubes of pasta with cheddar cheese sauce.  When it comes to cheese, no one knows it better than Wisconsin.  We decided to review Macs Macaroni and Cheese in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.  They created a new concept for the dining experience by experimenting with different flavors to the traditional mac and cheese.  There are currently eighteen different signature entrees to choose from topped with bread crumbs along with melts and desert items.  The price range is between $5-$11 and is vegetarian friendly.

The Mac and Cheese is served in a skillet with fresh ingredients all made hot and delicious.  The Chipotle Mac tasted amazing consisting of pepper jack, chicken, mozzarella, lime and chipotle sauce.  The loaded backed potato was also ordered that came in one size called mac daddy.  It had cheddar, baked potato, mozzarella, bacon, chives and sour cream.  The sauce was a blend of American, cheddar and mozzarella while using elbow macaroni.

There are currently seven different locations all in Wisconsin.  The wait staff is friendly and the restaurant can be described as fast casual.  For the dine in experience you order and then pay for the food.  A number is given to each customer and food served shortly after.  The creativity in the types of mac and cheese is why it’s recommended for even the pickiest eaters!
